Are You Thinking Of Starting A Blog? Do You Have A Blog That Needs Freshening Up?

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 03-03-2010

If you want to keep your Blog fresh and interesting, then you need to post often. You can create different types of posts to keep your readers paying attention. This will also keep you from getting bored with your own Wordpress blog. Whether blogging to make money directly from the Weblog, or blogging to drive traffic to an Affiliate product, you should keep these five types of Blog posts in mind.

1. The Review Post

Review blog posts can help you to monetize your Weblog. You will take a close look at a product and give a review of it. This can include an affiliate link to the product. When reviewing, be sure to mention BOTH positive and negative comments about the product. Even if you totally loved the product, keep your review balanced by mentioning a few things that could have been improved. Your readers will be thankful for your honesty and be more likely to trust your suggestion.

2. The Quick Tip Post

In between your longer posts you can do a “quick tips” type of post. These are normally 150-250 words. Sometimes we have a lot of information about our niche that we want to share but it may not be creditable of a full length post. In that case, post a quick tip. This should be focused on ONE key area of the niche. For example, “How to Plant a Tulip Bulb” would be a quick tip article for a gardening Weblog.

3. The List Post

Blog readers love lists! The most popular Blogs make good use of lists. You can create lists that fit with any topic conceivable. This is a great way to convey information online because it can be easily scanned by web readers who are “skimmers.” You can also create lists of different ways to accomplish a goal in your niche. “10 Ways To Prepare Your Soil For Planting” would be a great list for gardeners.

4. The Interview Post

Interviews will require some preparation, but they are very valuable to your Blog. Interview someone in your niche and then share the results of that interview with your readers. This will not only provide helpful content for your Weblog, but will also bring more traffic. Most likely, the person you interview will also make known the event on their Wordpress blog or Website, directing traffic to your Wordpress blog.

5. The Instruction Post

This is related to Quick Tips as you are providing your readers with important information. However, these Instruction posts will go into much more detail on a certain topic. Sometimes your instructions can even be separated into two or three posts or courses. Look at comments and questions from your readers to find what topic would be most constructive to your readers.

As you Wordpress blog, remember that your readers like diversity. Do not always write the same type of post. Put a little variety in your Wordpress blog to keep it fresh.

If your going to do any type of internet marketing then you have to have a wordpress blog. GVO or Global Virtual Opportunities is my number one recommendation for hosting all your blogs and getting all your internet marketing tools.

Maintaining Your Wordpress Blog

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 02-03-2010

This article will guide you through several specific activities but they are not related. You could set aside some time to do them all at once or you might just like to do one at a time. There are no hard and fast rules but I would suggest that all of these activities are done at least every couple of months, more often if you post to your Wordpress blog more than once a day.

The most important thing to do is to ensure that you are using the latest version of WordPress and all of the plugins you have installed.

WordPress is what is known as ‘open source’ software and that means that the internals of how it is written is publically available for all to see - including hackers. WordPress work very hard to ensure
their software is very secure and they constantly update it with new features and bug fixes. The problem is that every time they release a bug fix, they announce it which alerts hackers to its presence. If you do not update your version of WordPress as soon as possible, the bug can potentially be exploited by hackers who now know how it works.

To protect yourself from these security risks all you need to do is upgrade WordPress as soon as an update is available. This should not be a problem because the latest version of WordPress (from around version 2.5 onwards) has an in-built notification of when there is a new upgrade and one of the first plugins I got you to install back in lesson 7 was the automatic upgrade plugin.

The same theory applies to plugins as many of these are open source and subject to security risks too. Luckily since WordPress 2.6, you are now clearly shown in your dashboard when an update is available
for a plugin - a red box appears above your plugins link with a number indicating how many updates are available.

Bottom line - any time there is an update available for any WordPress plugin or WordPress itself, upgrade straight away. This should only take a few moments of your time. If you use something other than WordPress this guideline will still apply as all software is a potential security risk.

Sometimes we install WordPress plugins and then find something else to replace them or just stop using them. Every now and then it’s a good idea to just have a look through and see if you still need them.

For example I used to use a plugin that showed the pictures of people in the comments but this functionality is now built into WordPress itself so the plugin became redundant. If you no longer
need a plugin, deactivate it, check that everything still works and then delete it from your server. WordPress will still attempt to find updates of deactivated plugins which is just extra work that it doesn’t need to do.

Another very important thing that is often over-looked is keeping your about page updated and fresh. Many people keep the same outdated description of themselves and their blog for years. You should definitely watch out for this.

These are a few simple tasks that can help you keep your Wordpress blog up to date and working without any glitches.

Fetch vital information about the topic of seo - study this page. The time has come when proper info is really within one click, use this possibility.

Research, Backlinks, And More Traffic

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 26-02-2010

You may be thinking, well, yea, that’s just the type of results I’m looking for. Hopefully I can share with you some new strategies, better options, with the plus of convenience and simplicity to boot.

If you’re like me, maybe you’re not, you’d like to find an organized way to track and research content and news that you want to be up to date on. Many times you use social networks, the blogs on them, and the bookmarking sites to keep track of links you regularly use and want to promote. Well, I’ve found a new option that’s as convenient as they happen.

Elert Gadget has all the tools you’ll need to make your blog or information gadget a success. Let me explain.

You start by downloading the Elert Gadget itself. EG is constantly updating and improving their service for your best success so keep an eye out. The desktop gadget includes a feeds tab for you to list your favorite blogs or news feeds to keep up with. This facet makes it very easy to research a particular niche or keywords. You pick your keywords, and search the engines of your choice, or as it happens that you find great choices in networking with prospects, you then just add the feeds with the titles of the feed to your tab on the EG desktop gadget. You can now follow these blogs, network, comment, followup comments and link to them to increase your ranking and traffic.

Once you have thoroughly searched a niche or keyword, simply clear them out, only the ones you’ve no more use for, and use another word or niche of your choice. This method can be as useful for getting backlinks and staying on top of content that is just published as submitting to many directories. You’ll want to remember to link to blogs and pages that have similar content or topics in common with your own. This is a rule of relevant content with Google.

Elert Gadget is a part of the Google search engine and will always be a great place to be ranked and linked with. Each page within the gadgets are searchable and indexable by Google. There’s also the option to submit your whole gadget to Google for approval. The pages are immediately published to the Google search engine when you press the publish button. It takes only a matter of minutes to be found in search.

Another useful function of EG is the bookmarking tab on the desktop gadget right next to the feeds tab. You can easily bookmark your pages and sites to remember and refer back to at a glance. On the other hand, to increase your traffic, you can also bookmark at the Elert Gadget bookmarking section to share your favorites with others. Recently Elert Gadget has been added to the AddThis platform, so it is simple now to bookmark to your EG bookmarking account from anywhere on the net.

Perhaps you’re seeing the virtues of blogging and would like a nicely ranked blog in an atmosphere of professionalism. Well, EG has just released their new free domain for your blog with your elert gadget. It’s simple to post to and keep up with. Manage and post to your favorite social networks right after you publish.

To add to the purposefulness of using Elert Gadget, I’ll discuss their affiliate programs. The tools here are tools that any webmaster can use to profit and succeed. Affiliate marketers, bloggers, niche site experts, or average joes can use, maintain, and prosper using the affiliate tools at EG, and earn extra cash at the same time.

Each of the affiliate programs is listed with Clickbank, including MyTrafficStrategy, Elert Gadget Sales Page, and MyArticleStrategy which is regular niche content delivered daily, with the exception of BZ9 url shortener and redirecting service. This program you need to apply to directly for approval or simply purchase the designer drop-ins with autoresponders attached to become an affiliate.

How To Convert Your Content To Cash

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 26-02-2010

At times new comers to the internet marketing business struggle to make a living online, it becomes a thing that most becomes desperate and others frustrated. Especially if using the content marketing avenue. Many ask how do I convert my content to cash. Well the answer lies within the writer.

You need to find a way to get to the heart of your readers and let them like you and trust you. Show them that you are after their interest; if that is settled you easily make sales from them. Remember if they are not buying from you they are buying from someone else.

I will try to give some suggestions on how to convert your content to cash.

1. Reward your Readers Always
This seems obvious but not practised. Each time they receive an email from you let them be glad they did. Let they rush to open your mails or click to the sites you are referring them to. Why will they do this?
You reward them always. You surprise them.

You can do this by:
a. By solving a need that they might have presently
b. By entertaining them
c. By giving them suggestions to carry out that will increase their confidence
d. By granting them access to you
e. By making cookies for them- giving them what they really need and want

If this is done consistently it will create a bond between you and your readers and many will like to subscribe to you. And follow your tweets and leads.

2. Show your self as a friend and an expert
People do not love experts who are not friendly. They believe they are pompous and they hardly learn from them. That is why you probably did not like your Math teacher, he knew the subject quite alright but he was not friendly. He was imposing; he did not let you learn at your pace he was following the school calendar. Well he may be right because he has a lot of ground to cover.

But in real life if you need to make impact you need to first be a friend. Show some understanding to your readers. Empathise with them and admit weakness if there is a place for one that will encourage them to aspire to continue. Do not give them you are too dumb attitude.

Never claim to be a guru let them call you by that. Let them know where your loyalty lies- the money or their progress. When people see they are making progress from your advice they will stand to be counted when you suggest an e-book or software that will help them the more. We buy things from those we know and trust.

3. Tell first and Sell later
This principle is the secret of great marketers. They tell you a lovely story first and when they see you are hooked they smartly introduced their product to you and before long you have purchased from them and keep ordering for more. Do not try to sell in your first mails, keep your sales skills at bay!

First create a relationship. Tell stories that will lead to your final product introduction. Do a romance with your readers; court them with words of confidence and interest. Point them to great materials and sites. Easily tell them to ask you questions and do try to answers promptly.

Then as you introduce your product tell them the benefits they stand to gain. Tell them how the product has helped you and others you know. Be truthful. Never, ever promote what you do not trust! Give a clear call to action. Tell them what to do. Here is where I see many lose it. They never tell their client what to do next. I noticed people love to follow. They love to be told what to do. So tell them where to click. Tell them what to buy, tell them the guarantees involved in buying that product, and assure them that you will personally give them the money back if the product does not do what it claims to do. You need to be savvy but do not over sell. Readers hate it when all you do is to sell.

Use your content to build this kind of relationship, and then you can confidently ask for the sale. Never be afraid to ask when you have the relationship. As someone wisely said you cannot make a withdrawal where you have not made a deposit!

Blogging - Some Basics

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 26-02-2010

The exact term of a blog is web log. In simple terms, it is like a journal that you operate completely online. Blogging is kind of like combining a basic website with this journal idea. It allows you to write your thoughts, opinions about certain subjects, or anything else that you can possibly imagine. People use blogging to help other people in the world stay connected with each other based on their similar ideas and beliefs. In general, there are not really any specific rules that govern blogging, other than adhering to the terms and conditions that a specific blog site owner has, like no adult content or foul language. There are some sites that are designed for this particular purpose, but the ones that are accessible to anyone must follow these guidelines.

One of the most important things that you can learn about blogging is that most of the time, there are no or very minimal costs associated with starting a blog or continuing your blogging posts. There are tons of sites that will allow you to maintain a blog completely free from any charges. This is an ideal way to get started and make your presence known throughout the Internet, not just the blogging community.

Once you have decided that you want to get involved in blogging, it is a good idea to check some of the popular host sites before you make a choice. There are different options with each host site. Some sites will allow you to have more detailed blogging and editing abilities, while others can actually impose a limitation on how frequently that you can add a post. There are also many options for the format, style, graphics and themes that these sites provide for you. In some cases, you can even design your own theme for your blog if you have the ability to do so.

In addition to the options for the overall look and feel of your site, you can choose to have the ability to upload pictures, sound files and even videos. Most blogging sites do not have a restriction on the links that you add to your posts. In fact, it is always encouraged to add links to other sites for information or to have people linked to your site to increase your number of readers.

Blogging can have many purposes. You can choose to have a personal style where you are writing about things in your life that you are going through or that you have experienced, like marriage or raising children. You can also have a business style where you are using your blog to promote certain products that you may be trying to sell, or even services that you may have to offer to other people. Blogging can be used for nearly any purpose.

If you use your site as an information portal about your personal life, you are not going to worry too much about adding advertisements or special referral links. If, on the other hand, you plan on using it for business purposes, you will need to learn about article marketing, affiliate linking and how to promote your blog. The goal for this purpose is to make sure that there are a lot of readers coming to your site, and returning, in order to make sales. There are quite a few things that you can learn about blogging for business.

Does A Business Really Need A Blog?

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 26-02-2010

Everyone these days say you need a blog, especially if you’re in business. If you’re a small business a blog can be a great way of connecting with customers and pushing out information to them. Also, the nature of a blog platform, also makes it easy for your content to get found by people and search engines. A blog is fairly simple and inexpensive to set up, so setting up a blog can take a fraction of the time it takes to set up a full blown website - and it can still look pretty professional. Blogs, since they are often updated can even take the place of a company email, which often get buried in an email inbox or caught up in a spam filter.

But there is one caveat with a blog - in order to do it’s job well, it needs to updated frequently. You can talk about your products and services, industry news and even had a bit of personal color. The tone of a blog is generally friendlier and casual than a company website. Since most blogs support comments, customer can even ask questions on a post, making it easy to engage in a dialogue - and answering sales questions in real time - just be sure to answer them.

A blog isn’t substitute for a company website - especially if you offer ecommerce. Blogs for the most part don’t do shopping carts, inventory management or handle shipping and tax calculations that well. Also detailed product specs probably won’t work as well with the more casual log format, but you might be able to bud buzz for an upcoming product launch using a blog - revealing bits and pieces of the whole over a series of posts to build people’s anticipation.

Also blogging takes work - a good blog is updated several times a week and if you truly want a lot of traffic, you will need to spend time marketing your blog - time that might be spent directly marketing your products or your business. No a blog, in many cases should be thought of as an indirect marketing tool for many established product or service companies.

But make no mistake, a blog can be a powerful tool for a smaller company on a budget - it can give your company real personality and it can be an excellent low cost way to market your company. Is a blog right for your business? Only you can decide - and sometimes the only way to know is to try it - but be sure to commit to it fully for a period of time - six months or so. Also you should decide on some goals for your blog - do you want it to build your email list (make sure you add an email capture box to your blog) increase product awareness, or jump start sales. Your goals will dictate the content of your blog and how you use it.

Blogging - The Most Popular Method To Make Money Online!

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 26-02-2010

It started a few months ago when Ryan Spaulding, producer of the site Smashing Life noticed some odd things happening to his previous blog postings. Then he noticed that this very strange thing started happening to his recent postings as well. What do all these post have in common? They started disappearing from his site, one right after another. One moment they were there and the next “poof” they were gone. Ryan checked with other bloggers in his niche and found that most of them had the same problem. Who was the mysterious force behind the disappearing web content? The answer to that question would be Google. Now before you call Google a bunch of foul names that mostly contain four letters and vow to stop using all their products, let me tell you what was behind these actions and why Ryan’s experience is an important lesson for your new internet business.

These sites had something in common, they are all in the music niche. But why is Google deleting post on these certain Blogger ran sites? According to a site called Techdirt, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) sends Google lists of URLs they believe to contain infringing materials, and Google then responds. So it appears that music’s big brother scrolls the internet and reports violators to whomever is hosting the site in question, in this case that would be Google. Now let me put out a disclaimer here. I have no opinion either way on the subject of if this was okay for the RIAA to do, or Google, or if Ryan and his fellow bloggers are in the right. That is not the point of this article. This article is only from the view of a business and nothing more or nothing less.

As you begin your internet based business from home, one of your first task is to decide what your niche is going to be. In what area will your website or blog be focused on. Some people choose to either focus on whatever niche is making the big bucks at the time and some people choose to start their internet new business based on what they are passionate about. Either way you must do the research on your niche and stay involved in it. I have said it before, but it bears repeating, know your niche! Know the area of your niche that make the most money and know the areas of your niche that can stop you from making that money and always keep a close eye on both. In the above case some of these sites have been flat out closed or at the very least some of their music and content has been removed. What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and your site was gone? Your content gone. Your traffic gone. Your followers and advertisers all gone. This is what happened to some of them and can easily happen in a questionable niche.

There are three things that are the most important keys to your internet new business. Treat them like GOLD and your internet new business will be very successful for you.

1. Content - You have heard it over and over again. Content, content, content. Add more content because you can’t add enough to your website or blog and protect your content from copying or being erased.

2. Traffic - SEO, meta tags, AdWords, are all words you’ve heard before and they all mean to you more traffic. Always try to gain more traffic because there is no such thing as too much and again, protect, protect, protect! Protect your traffic by keeping your customers on your page and not linked away. Also protect your traffic from not going away due to shutdowns.

3. Your List - Your customers are like the glue that holds your business together. Always protect your customer list and treat them like gold, because they are. Without them nothing else you do in your internet new business really matters much. Your easiest sell is to someone that has brought from you before.

Whether it is fair or not, music related sites are being targeted right now by the RIAA in an effort to clean up the web. So the message here is if you are looking for a niche for your blog or website take a little time to study-up and know your biz. Keep a close eye on both friend and foe of your internet new business.

The Main Advantages Of A Technology Blog

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 25-02-2010

Almost everyone in the modern world, who wants to seek information, finds surfing the internet as the most convenient and effective method. This fact has prompted many individuals and companies to meet their potential friends, contacts, colleagues, business partners, or clients online. They do so by putting up websites and blogs. While there is not much difference between both, blogs are less expensive to maintain and more personal in approach. Therefore, it does not reek with profit orientation, something that can discourage a potential client who just wants a venue for presenting and discussing his questions and problems.

Technology blogs are becoming a fad in the internet because of the advantages these provide to both bloggers and readers. It is a fact that technology has never ceased to develop. Many things have stagnated because of failing economies. Basic and big financial companies have been threatened with closures. However, technology, particularly in electronics continues to boom. In fact, there seems to be a new gadget better than a model that was just released the previous month. That is how fast technological advancement is. That is also how in demand technology blogs are. People want to know about the latest models. They want explanations about how these work. They want to have information before buying these latest releases. They do this by going to the internet and read technology blogs.

While technology blogs are necessities in a rapidly developing techno world, the bloggers can certainly make use of these to earn money too. They can allow companies manufacturing or reselling computers and other electronic appliances and devices to post ads in their blogs. After all, the blogs cater to people interested in something related to technology. So, why not provide them the choices of products they can buy too. Because most blogs are free, the owner of the blog can earn money without being burdened with so many expenses. Compared to a costly website, a technology blog draws in money without fuss.

One more very important feature in a technology blog is that it allows interaction not just with the blog owner but also with the other readers. This is very important when it comes to technology. The best way to know about the quality of a certain technological product is not to browse its website. One can expect a subjective view on the product from its own promotional site. However, if he goes to a blog populated with consumer’s comments on it, he will surely get a more objective perspective. If blogs are meant to be venues for expressing and sharing ideas on almost any subject, those on technology are means of introducing, analyzing, and judging the latest engineering wonders, especially those in electronics and communications.

5 Invaluable Tips On Blogging To Rank Your Website High On Google

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 25-02-2010

Blog sites were created for many reasons and you can create as many as you want. I have two blogs, one for my writing exploits, the other for my affiliate business and my products that I sell on a regular basis. I use SEO strategies for my niche marketing products so that I can get high ranking on the search engines to lure more traffic to my site thus more potential profit. I have 5 tips on blogging to get your website ranked high on the search engines. Follow these and you should have no trouble turning profit.

1. Linking

You need to have a blog that have links coming into as many pages as possible that has unique written articles that serve your products and services. You will be able to tell if this is true by the number of visitors that search not only your home page but the other pages of your website looking for your great content. Using long tailed words in your keywords will get users to come look over your site for decent content that will be useful to them and will help you sell your product and services in the long run.

2. Internal Linking

By using link exchanges you will not only get links to your inside pages from other blobs and websites, but you can link to your pages inside your blog. When visitors click your link in your content it will not only keep them on the site longer, but also allow Google’s content spider to index your blog at a better rate. It will also let me pick the anchor content for the link to the internal page. That then will let me rank the keywords I am shooting for.

3. Article Exchange

Article exchanges allow you to trade articles with other blogs or websites. If you trade with similar blogs or websites that have the same product or service in mind then that is very useful to you. You now have fresh content on your blog from another website of similar products or services. For example if you advertise for a travel agency and you obtain content for your blog from another travel agency website or blog then you will improve your ranking because of the new fresh unique content. This is very advantageous for you and it is a very simple process.

4. Write Your Key Search Terms In Text

Type out your long tailed keyword and maybe include a keyword description to go along with your text title. When the search engines are crawling your site this will make it more attractive and rank high with Google, Yahoo, or MSN.

5. Article Directories

Article directories allow other websites to take your articles you have written for them for free. This allows you not only free advertising on their websites but also further advances your ranking in the search engines by creating back links to your blog or website. This is really about making it easier for search engines to find your site. The more users on your site the better chances for you to make a buck.

Conclusion

These are 5 great tips that will increase your chances of advancing to the first page on the search engines. They are very sound and grounded strategies that when used properly will get your products and services seen on a regular basis. You will then have a great chance of being rewarded for your hard work with great sales and more profit. See you at the top

Blogging To Make Money Requires The Right Mindset

Filed Under (blogging) by marketing-master on 25-02-2010

Blogging to make money can not be accomplished by simply creating a blog, throwing some affiliate links on it and waiting for the sales to roll in. A money making blog starts with a focused mindset and clearly demonstrated intentions to the blog reader. Without either your efforts will tend to be greater while your results likely will not measure up to your own expectations. In any event a money making blog will need to be backed up by a consistently focused effort on your part and this starts with your own mindset.

Here are 3 areas you will need to address with the proper mindset and required skills that will help make your blog a financial success.

Develop Mindset

If your intentions are to create a money making blog it is important you adopt this mindset so all your actions will be focused to achieve this goal. Without this definiteness of purpose and focus your efforts will be more ’scattershot’ and less effective. The net result will be the investment of more effort and the acceptance of more frustrations until you do finally succeed.

Understand that your blog is a marketing platform and maintain it as such. This platform is where you will both promote and deliver whatever goods and services you may be representing. Every post and every layout adjustment should have the ultimate goal of increasing your sales.

Post on Marketable Topics

As mentioned earlier each post you make should be targeting the ‘financial’ growth of your blog. Now this is not to say every post should convince the blog reader to make a purchase but they do need to at least ’set the stage’ for future sales.

The topic of your posts should always be relevant to whatever you may be promoting either directly or indirectly. And with that said you need to be sure you are promoting a marketable commodity and not just wasting your time trying to sell something people do not want.

Learn to Write Persuasive Sales Copy

Do not be shy about making sales pitches on your site because this is your intentions and they need to be made clear to visitors. The need to focus on developing your copy writing skills is a must in order to be more persuasive with your readers.

Remember you wanted a money making blog and the only way this is going to happen is by consistently promoting your products. Of even GREATER importance however is the need to maintain a blog that continues to supply readers with quality content for without this they will not return. This is your first priority since without traffic you have no business.

Blogging to make money can be both financially rewarding and self satisfying as well. If your intention when creating a blog is to earned an income you will want to clearly convey this message to the blog reader. To do otherwise will only increase your efforts and frustrations thereby resulting in little or no income. By understanding and addressing the 3 areas we spoke of here today your mindset and blog will be properly synchronized to earn you an income. In the end it is simply a matter of maintaining your focus on what your intentions are and clearly conveying this to the blog reader.
